Only about 25% or less of all MBFD volunteer calls are for fires.

Many of those are for grass fires in the outlying areas in and around Mont Belvieu.

Since many departments in Chambers County are comprised of volunteers, the departments often assist each other with larger incidents and therefore often work outside their own districts protecting life and property for the entire county & not only their own hometown.
